A Comic Book Store Owner In Oak Lawn Is Giving Away His Store...Yes, The Whole Store

original

Chimera’s Comics – Have you ever wanted to own your own comic book store? Have you thought, “If only I knew where to start” or “if only I had the money”? Are you tired of making decisions in your life based on fear?

What if I told you I’m going to take the fear away. I’m going to give away a once-in-a-lifetime headstart. I’m going to give away an entire comic book store. I’m giving away a local comic shop. The inventory, the fixtures, the goodwill, the customer base, six years of history…and it can all be yours. Think Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Since 2013, Chimera’s Comics has brought its signature service, selection, and style to Oak Lawn. I recently faced the hard fact that I can no longer give it the attention it deserves, because I’m spread thin between my duties as an attorney, Chimera’s Comics La Grange location, and the new publishing branch of Chimera’s Comics.

Look, I’m not going to sit here and tell you that I know the first thing about comic books. They aren’t my bag, and never really were. I mean sure, when I was real little I used to look at the pictures and all that, but I’ve never been the type of guy to pick up the newest version of Spiderman in my Venom outfit.

But, I do know that I’m in the market for any store that somebody is just going to GIVE away, whether if it’s a comic book store or a Jewel. I was a huge Storage Wars guy back in its heyday, and I don’t really see this as being all that different because it has that wild factor. If I was standing there sizing up a locker with Darrel, Rick, and Barry – and I saw a bunch of comic books stacked up high on one shelf I’d be throwing elbows at them to get it for the sole fact of you never knowing what type of issue you’re going to get. Sure, most of them are probably worth less than a penny, but all you need is that one $10,000 issue.

I have just emailed the owner, and will update you all on my quest to get this bad boy handed over to me.
