I'm Moving UMass WR Andy Isabella To The Top Of My Draft Board

Like I said last week, when DRAFT SZN comes, it comes hard and nonstop. And now that Senior Bowl week is here you can expect all sorts of sliding, moving and shaking as guys improve their stock or start their free fall to day three.

With all that being said, I may be done with my predraft evaluations at this point of the process. I know it’s a little too early on to be calling it, but I just can’t imagine what news is going to come out that’s going to top what happened with Andy Isabella today. For starters, Gruden loves him. The guy might not be able to coach in today’s NFL but he has been grinding nothing but film for the last decade working with ESPN. Mostly with quarterbacks but I assume the man knows a gritty white skill position player when he sees one. I mean he coached Mike Alstott for fucks sake, Gruden knows.

Secondly, and least importantly, he’s a Minuteman. UMass has a storied history of producing top tier receivers such as Victor Cruz, Tajae Sharpe, and also Victor Cruz. This bodes well for him and his future professional endeavors. It’s like drafting a lineman from Wisconsin, you just know what you’re going to get no matter what the name on the back of the jersey says.

Finally, and absolutely most importantly, HE’S WORKING OUT WITH RANDY MOSS. THE GOAT. THE ALL TIME GREATEST RECEIVER OF ALL TIME. That guy sees something in Isabella to think, “You know what? I’d like to hitch my wagon to this show pony please and thank you.” If that’s not enough to get you all in on Andy Isabella then nothing will and I’m surprised you’ve even read to this point of the blog. Isabella’s so good you can’t even call him a Future Patriot because he wont even be on the board by the time the 32nd overall pick comes up. And while I hate drafting for need, the Cardinals are sitting there with the top pick in the draft and a massive hole in the playmaker department. It almost makes too much sense when you really step back and look at things.
