How many Filipinos does it take to beat Adrien Broner?...

… Manny!

As you wake up on what appears to be an ideal day to do nothing but sit on the couch and eat carbs while watching football, just know that Manny Pacquiao destroyed Adrien Broner last night.

CompuBox doesn’t decide fights, but according to their numbers Pacquiao landed 112 of 568 total punches (20 percent), while Broner landed a mere 50 of 295 (17 percent). Broner never landed more than eight punches in any round.

Always a gentleman in defeat, Broner had this to say following the loss…

For those who see this sound bite this morning and think boxing got it wrong again… They didn’t.

Broner maybe won 2 rounds, and did what AB does- He didn’t throw enough punches to stay competitive.  He has now fought 4 real fighters in his career and lost to them all, so will probably be relegated to true “tune-up fight” status going forward, IF he can avoid going to jail.

Meanwhile, 40 year old Pac will be embroiled in talks with 42 year old Mayweather again.

Was it worth the $75?… NOPE!   I like paying money to watch douchebags get beat up and legends continue their runs, but these are $40 or $50 cards… Tops.

However, if your the type who pays to watch people bleed, then $75 was a steal, as one of the undercard bouts provided more blood than most wedding nights when Marcus Browne opened up a vertical cut on Badou Jack’s forehead with an accidental headbutt in the 7th round…

The non-bloodied Browne (23-0, 16 KOs), a 28 year old from Staten Island, claimed a one-sided unanimous decision and a vacant interim light heavyweight world title in his first major fight.

Enjoy football.

Take a report.

Gratuitous post-boxing talk smut:

“I’ll have some cheesecake in the steamroom.”

And one more…
