Joey Bosa in Awe of Tom Brady is Bourbon for My Soul

Goddamn, how I love Joey Bosa. He might talk like sound a little like Bill S. Preston, Esq. But don’t let the tone fool you. He’s a football legacy, raised by a dad who played for the Dolphins and a grandfather who was with the Baltimore Colts. He gets it. He’s got that mutual respect that exists between a man who’s trying to snap another man in two and that man who’s driving him insane because he can’t get to him.

In between plays, Bosa and Brady are like those soldiers who came out of the trenches in World War I to trade whiskey and cigarettes across No Man’s Land on Christmas. And Bosa goes back to the Chargers bench like he’s climbing back into the bunker saying you’ve got to admire that guy on the other side of the barbed wire. If I was with NFL Films or Showtime, I’d put Bosa on the short list of guys who’d be wearing the mic every time he’s willing.

Though once again, Julian Edelman was also mic’d. And sharing as much mutual respect as Bosa. First with Casey Hayward and then with Anthony Lynn:

Proving once again that he’s the best in the business at providing audio on these segments. It’s a damn shame Bosa won’t get the chance until next year. But if we don’t get Edelman mic’d up again (for two games, God willing), there should be an investigation.
