I'm Sure Kevin Durant Totally Won't Create Thousands Of Burners To Vote For Himself After Falling Out Of The West All Star Starting Five

Last week we got our first look at the initial fan voting result for this year’s All Star Game, and for the most part there weren’t too many surprises. Well, things are a little different this time around as we see Kevin Durant fall out of the starting five out West. No chance he gets a little butthurt about it and hits up some Silicon Valley tech firm to create thousands of bots and burner accounts in order to get him back into the starting group. That definitely doesn’t sound like something he would do because he is for sure not sensitive about how fans and strangers on the internet perceive him.

Anyway, let’s take a look at the updated results

Eastern Conference

Frontcourt

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL), 2,670,8161 votes

2. Kawhi Leonard (TOR), 2,092,806 votes

3. Joel Embiid (PHI), 1,710,229 votes

4. Jayson Tatum (BOS), 599,289 votes

5. Jimmy Butler (PHI), 569,354 votes

6. Blake Griffin (DET), 500,072 votes

7. Vince Carter (ATL), 273,719 votes

8. Gordon Hayward (BOS), 237,813 votes

9. Pascal Siakam (TOR), 206,290 votes

10. Al Horford (BOS), 199,474 votes

Things to note here are Tatum has passed Jimmy Butler and we see Hayward slightly move up. The one biggest change is Andre Drummond is out and Pascal Siakam is in. Maybe fans are starting to realize what a breakout year Siakam is having. Honestly he should be even higher, and I think we’ll see the players and coaches be very fond of him once their voting is calculated.

Guards

1. Kyrie Irving (BOS), 2,381,901 votes

2. Dwyane Wade (MIA), 1,199,789 votes

3. Kemba Walker (CHA), 858,798 votes

4. Ben Simmons (PHI), 695,032 votes

5. Victor Oladipo (IND), 567,893 votes

6. Kyle Lowry (TOR), 488,825 votes

7. Zach LaVine (CHI), 330,504 votes

8. Jeremy Lin (ATL), 200,648 votes

9. Goran Dragic (MIA), 191,541 votes

10. Bradley Beal (WAS), 168,137 votes

Not too many changes here either now that Wall has been swapped out due to his injury. The one thing of note here is that we need Kyrie to get more votes so he can become a captain because I need him selecting Anthony Davis so we can get this tampering back on track.

Western Conference

Frontcourt

1.  LeBron James (LAL), 2,779,812 votes

2. Luka Doncic (DAL), 2,220,077 votes

3. Paul George (OKC), 1,859,216 votes

4. Kevin Durant (GSW), 1,717,968 votes

5. Anthony Davis (NOP), 1,564,347 votes

6. Steven Adams (OKC), 1,034,014 votes

7. Nikola Jokic (DEN), 740,918 votes

8. Kyle Kuzma (LAL), 584,842 votes

9. Draymond Green (GSW), 411,131 votes

10. DeMarcus Cousins (GSW), 276,849 votes

I know it won’t happen, but imagine Luka catches LeBron? That would be pretty wild. Obviouisly the biggest change is George taking over Durant for the third spot which bumped AD down a little bit which is crazy when you think about it. Neither Anthony Davis or Kevin Durant could start the All Star Game? That feels weird but the fans want what the fans want.

Guards

1. Stephen Curry (GSW), 2,094,158 votes

2. Derrick Rose (MIN), 1,986,840 votes

3. James Harden (HOU), 1,674,660 votes

4. Russell Westbrook (OKC), 1,494,382 votes

5. Klay Thompson (GSW), 706,960 votes

6. Damian Lillard (POR), 610,839 votes

7. DeMar DeRozan (SAS), 594,012 votes

8. Lonzo Ball (LAL), 529,164 votes

9. Devin Booker (PHO), 310,944 votes

10. Chris Paul (HOU), 306,808 votes

I think it says a lot that despite James Harden going supernova over the course of the last week, that Derrick Rose still has a sizable lead. The fans are truly showing out and rewarding him for all his hard work on his journey back and that’s cool to see. This is the only list that didn’t have any changes from the first voting period, and something tells me this is how it’s going to shake up. I know Rockets fans will be pretty mad if Harden doesn’t start considering he’s pretty much in a neck and neck tie for MVP, but just let Rose have this moment would ya.

If this really bothers you, good news is today and tomorrow are 2 for 1 days where the votes count twice and then there’s another one on January 21st. There’s one more fan voting period that ends  on the 17th and then the league will start to incorporate the players and media votes. Each final  score will be calculated by the average of his weighted rank from all parties and as a reminder it’ll be two guards and three front court players in each starting five. Unfortunately, the fan vote is the tie breaker if two players in the position group have the same score, so these fan votes are somewhat important.

So sorry Kevin, maybe next time don’t be a snake.
