Wake Up With Jason Giambi Mudering A Pedro Martinez Pitch

Oakland Jason Giambi was a monster, so much fun to watch rip the covers off of baseballs. Especially when it comes off of a guy like Pedro Martinez in his prime. As you heard in the broadcast, it took Pedro almost 56 innings to give up his first bomb in 2001, and it was no cheapy. Nicely planted behind the bullpen out there in right center. Pedro hung a breaking ball to the lefty slugger, and there was no shot in hell he was missing it.
This ball was gone from the second it touched Giambi's wood, Pedro knew it, the catcher knew it, and a young Jared Carrabis sitting in Section 10 knew it. I mean he was the poster boy for what a slugger looked like in this steroid era. He had the Sports Illustrated cover with his sweaty long hair, the tattoos, the chains, the biceps that looked like honey baked hams, the guy was massive. He was absolutely terrifying to watch hit against your team anytime he got in the box. Jason Giambi, masher of baseballs.
