Snoop Dogg Has Advice For Kevin Hart: "Smoke A Blunt And Tell'Em To Suck Your Dick"

Uncle Snoop coming through with a poor choice of words but the advice is still solid. You’re a comedian and if people don’t like your jokes and they threaten to fire you? Quit and walk away. That audience sucked anyway. I think Kevin Hart did the right thing. Kevin Hart is a comedian and he’s gonna make jokes and some people aren’t gonna like the jokes or they’re gonna be offended by them. The joke Hart had in his act about not wanting his son to be gay looks really bad in 2018 but he made the joke in 2010. People will say that’s not an excuse but people underestimate just how much things have changed in that short period of time and there’s of course the rise of outrage culture where everybody is on fire and screaming mad all the time.

When Bill Burr went on KFC Radio he said something about the current state of discourse in the world that I think about all the time. He said, “I feel like 85% of people are watching 15% of people losing their minds.” Burr wasn’t applying it specifically to a situation like this but it still rings true I think. The people who are freaking out about things Kevin Hart said almost a decade ago fall into the minority but they just so happen to be the loudest. 85% of people have working brains and can understand context and what things were like years ago as opposed to now. 15% of people look at everything in a vacuum and if you have ever said one bad thing in your entire life you should be cancelled forever. It’s insanity.

It’s also like when Deadspin or The Daily Beast trots out old blogs or tweets from somebody at Barstool. That usually then leads to those very people having their own controversial old tweets trotted out into the internet streets but for some reason their tweets back then were fine but ours weren’t. They can change but we can’t. Our old tweets are judged by today’s standard but theirs aren’t. That’s how this Kevin Hart things feels to me.

So should a few jokes Kevin Hart made in 2010, when the the things he was saying were more commonplace, be held to the standards of 2018 and mean he should be kicked off hosting the Oscars? I don’t know. I personally don’t think so. Kevin Hart had already apologized back in 2015 for the things he said. I consider myself part of the 85% who are watching the 15% lose their minds. People just wanna be mad. Those people should smoke a blunt.
