DM – Self driving cars are set to have a huge effect on commuters – but will also dramatically change other businesses, a new report has warned. Academics from the University of Surrey and the University of Oxford say the advent of autonomous vehicles will affect everything from red light districts in major cities to restaurants and hotels. They also warn of potential for terrorism facilitated by autonomous vehicles (AVs) also raises genuine security fears. The study, published in the Annals of Tourism Research could lead to far-reaching impacts on urban tourism. The report predicts ‘hotels-by-the-hour’ are likely to be replaced by self driving vehicles, which the team refer to as Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs). ‘This will have implications for urban tourism, as sex plays a central role in many tourism experiences,’ it says. ‘While vehicles will likely be monitored to deter passengers having sex or using drugs in them, and to prevent violence, such surveillance may be rapidly overcome, disabled or removed. ‘Moreover, personal CAVs will likely be immune from such surveillance. ‘Such private CAVs may also be put to commercial use, as it is just a small leap to imagine Amsterdam’s Red Light District ‘on the move’.

Hey, Mr. Study…

Of COURSE driverless cars are going to be used as mobile sex patties. It’s the world’s oldest profession on wheels. It’s a no-brainer. Not that I’m condoning any illegal behavior or Tomfoolery on the roads, but to be surprised that it won’t be a full fledged business model is just plain ignorant. And if it’s legal in certain jurisdictions, even better! People pay good money to pull a Toby and escape to Amsterdam for indeterminable amounts of time. Having roving Red-Light Districts just makes sense.

Forget about the mobile bang mobiles for a second. Maybe decades. Driverless cars ain’t happening anytime soon. It’s such a cocky move by scientists and manufactures to think they could pull this Sci-Fi driverless shit straight out of The Jetsons in this day and age. There’s NO WAY these things are going to be ready by 2050, let alone anytime soon. Hey, technology, let’s focus on dropping that GPS pick-up-pin within a full mile of where I’m at for once before you go revolutionizing mankind’s transportation. It’s only a matter of time before these things go full Skynet and start gunning for blood. Oh, wait, it’s already happened.

I’m all for the self-driving car craze, but not till we can control these artificial beasts. Regardless, once it’s all said and done I’m gonna need my own personal KIT that I can talk to and trust more than any woman in my life (not that hard) then boot them out at will. GET OUT!
