Local Donut Shop Owner Has To Close Down Early To Be With His Sick Wife...So Customers Have Lined Up At 4:30 AM To Buy Out The Entire Store Every Single Day

NY POST - Every morning at 4:30, small business owners John Chhan and his wife, Stella, have faithfully opened the doors to the Donut City Shop in Seal Beach, Calif. for nearly 30 years. But when Stella suffered a brain aneurysm in September, John was left to choose between keeping his business open — and aiding his recuperating wife.

“She’s in a nursing home,” Chhan told CNN on Monday. . “My sister-in-law is here helping me.”

When the store’s loyal patrons heard about Chhan’s dire situation, the community pulled together — to eat lots of doughnuts.

Lately, customers have assembled in droves at the beloved bakery, buying up every single doughnut and cup of coffee until the store is sold out as early as 7:30 a.m., so that Chhan can get home and be with his ailing wife.

You know how Buzzfeed and Clickbait Smitty say “right in the feels” all the time for like, a turtle poking his head out of his shell?  Well that’s what this story did to me.  Made me feel feelings.  It’s rare I know.  But this is fucking awesome.

John Chhan has run the local donut shop for 30 years.  Been opening up at 4:30 AM for 30 years.  Working all day giving the locals what they crave.

Then his wife had a brain aneurysm and he had to pick.  Run the business or help his wife?  Kind of insulting to even phrase that as a question, since it isn’t one.  So he got ready to shut it down.

And the locals?  They line up at 4:30 AM every single morning to buy out the entire store.  They don’t go to what I’m sure are 100 other coffee and donut places like we would probably do if we saw a Closed sign.  They buy every single donut and every single coffee and wipe out the entire place so that Chhan can get to his wife by 7:30 AM.

Thatttttttttt’s awesome.

Also, did I just head over to the Rundown set to eat 4 of the delicious Dunkin Donuts that are sitting there?  What do you think?
