DJ Swearinger Doesn't Want Us Getting Excited Before We've Even Put The Grease In

I’m sorry DJ! I’m sorry, I just can’t help it. I’m not used to being in first place. Every season is an uphill battle with the Redskins. All I ever get to blog about is locker room drama, quarterback controversies, Dan Snyder being a shit head, and things of that nature. When the Skins are winning, everything is great. Everything is happy. The grass is greener and the sky is bluer. So while it’s easy to get excited, we need to realize we ain’t even put the grease in yet. 5-2 is a long, long way from the Super Bowl. And I’ll say it since DJ can’t, we need the offense to do something…anything at all.

I appreciate Swearinger not getting ahead of himself. He’s a huge reason the Skins are where they’re at (place, first). But it’s games like yesterday vs a bad Giants team that the Skins only won by one touchdown that make you take a step back and realize though we are 5-2 (and should be 6-1, that Colts game is going to haunt us), there’s still a long road ahead. Gotta stay focused, gotta keep cooking.

No, I don’t expect the Skins to win out. But there were people who thought the Giants would win outright yesterday. And there are people who have no faith in the Skins vs Atlanta next week. It’s getting over these humps that will prove the Skins are for real. We’ll let DJ tell us when they put the grease in. I hope it’s Thanksgiving vs the Cowboys in Dallas. Just pile the grease all over Dak’s dumb face. And then never turn the grease off after that.
