Jason Garrett Needs To Take A Lesson From Barstool Sports

Over the weekend, Jason Garret attended the World Series in LA. Not only was he there for the game (he’s reportedly good friends with Clayton Kershaw), but he was sitting front row and center with Brad Paisley. Naturally, that caught the attention of the broadcast cameras.

Jimmy Johnson didn’t like it.

But Jerry Jones defended his head coach this morning on his weekly radio hit that he is ok with it. Because of course he is. The clapper can do no wrong in his book.

Via 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]…

“I’m not associated with anybody who works any harder than Jason Garrett. I can assure you he did have his mind on our team. …We spent good parts of the weekend in conversation regarding this team. …I know where Jason Garrett’s mind is and I know where his work ethic is.”

There are VERY few things that I will stand up for when it comes to JG right now, so he’s already at a disadvantage in my book. If I had my choice, he would’ve been fired yesterday. So, I’m siding with the Jimmy Johnson. Yes, it’s a bad look.

And sure, it’s a double standard. Whenever normal, every day people have days off, they’re allowed to do shit that they enjoy without consequence. If you have the means to go to the World Series, go for it. So why wouldn’t NFL coaches be afforded the same luxury? Because when you make millions of dollars to do something well (and you’re not doing it well), you’re held to a higher standard in season. That’s just the facts.

Plus, players get torched for doing the same kind of thing.

I mean, even Tony Romo caught shit for it when he took off to Cabo with Jessica Simpson before the 2007 season playoffs (which the Cowboys inevitably lost).

Jason Garrett sitting there chumming it up with a celebrity in LA mid-season is definitely not what Cowboys fans want to see. Maybe that’s not 100% fair, I don’t know. It’s also unrealistic to assume that he should just be sitting at home on a Friday night of a bye week. But when the team you coach is an embarrassing 3-4 and you’re on a seat hotter than Sofia Vergara, you should try to keep your clapping ass off of national TV. Maybe just don’t broadcast to the world that you don’t seemed worried at all that your team stinks and they stink because you stink.

Here at Barstool, Dave preaches #NoDaysOff. Ibiza Kayce learned that no matter when vacations are planned (even if they’re before you sign a contract), there are zero vacations. Take a lesson from Barstool, JG. Put your head down and work. Brick by brick. Grind. To the moon.

And for the love of god, figure it out and start winning some football games.

Disclaimer: If I liked Jason Garrett, I’d probably feel differently. If they were winning, I absolutely wouldn’t give a shit what he does on his days off. That’s just the way it is.

Also, for good measure, here’s a picture of Sofia Vergara. You know, so you can see how hot Jason Garrett’s seat actually is.

Happy Tuesday, folks.
