The NBA Hands Out Their Suspensions From Last Night's Brawl
You knew the NBA was going to have to be quick with their rulings as the Rockets are in action against the Clippers tonight, and now that we see the damage, 4 games for Ingram, 3 for Rondo, and 2 for Paul, I don’t really have a problem with any of these. Maybe if you want you could have given Rondo 4 since it appears he did somewhat spit on Paul and that’s what started this whole thing, but I think the NBA got this one right. We didn’t need anything drastic like when the Knicks/Nuggets combined for 47 games worth of suspensions for that brawl back in 2006
You watch that scrum last night and it’s clear Ingram deserved the most games, he came from out of nowhere and started swinging, what a fake ass tough guy in my humble opinion. CP3 did normal CP3 things and instigated things like he normally does, and Rondo, a guy proven to not take shit, maybe overreacted a little bit. Whatever, it made for a fun Saturday night.
In terms of what it will mean for both teams, the Lakers will be without their two for SA/PH/DEN and then Ingram for another date against SA, and HOU will be without CP3 for LA/UTA, which certainly is no joke. With how tight you would think the West is going to be again this season, where teams can lose out on playoff seeding by 1 or 2 games, this isn’t insignificant for either team. So while we as fans loved the drama now, come the Spring each fanbase may be looking at their standings and think this whole thing may have not been worth it.
