Panic! At The Disco Covering OutKast's "Hey Ya" May Be The Song Of The Summer

Tell ya what folks: when I woke up this morning, I didn’t expect to see Panic! At The Disco, a titan of the pop punk genre, throwin’ it back fifteen years and covering OutKast’s “Hey Ya”, but after a couple listens, I definitely ain’t mad at it.

Brendon Urie’s obviously one of the most talent frontmen pop punk has ever seen – now having made the genre-jump to more of a straight pop route like many, but I think when your roots involve actually picking up instruments and composing music, you have such an edge over most pop artists ESPECIALLY when doing covers like this one. I’m not hating on folk who make music on a laptop (do what you love, do what you gotta do), it just doesn’t really move the needle for me as much as shit like this does.

Anyway, enjoy!

Oh – and P!ATD’s cover of ‘Boheimium Rhapsody’ is a MUST WATCH if you’ve never seen it. One of the few to ever do that song justice other than Queen themselves.
