Frankie Fins Fan Week 5 On to Cincinnati

On to Cincinnati, that is what Bill Belichick said a few years back when the Patriots suffered a particularly bad loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. After a nightmarish loss last week in Foxboro, the Miami Dolphins need the same mentality. It was as bad it could be last week as the Patriots dominated both sides of the ball, exposing the Dolphins 3-0 start as just another mirage in this endless purgatory of mediocrity Miami has been wandering about for the better part of two decades.

Making matters worse, the Dolphins were not only humiliated they were beaten up physically, as Center Daniel Kilgore suffered a torn triceps muscle and is lost for the season, becoming the second lineman to be placed in on injured reserve along with guard Josh Sitton. This will place extra pressure on Laremy Tunsil and Ja’Wuan James to become the players the Dolphins expected when they were drafted. The offensive line has been a never-ending nightmare for the Dolphins over the last five years from the Richie Incognito bullying incident to former line coach Chris Foerster coaching the wrong kind of lines away from the stadium.

The offensive line is not the only unit beset by injury as Cameron Wake will miss the game due to a knee injury. With some many key players out and playing a strong Cincinnati team off to a good start, to say things don’t look good for the Dolphins would be an understatement. Thus far Andy Dalton has been tremendous and clutch, guiding the Bengals to a 3-1 start.

In order to win the Dolphins, need to take care of the football, and take care of Ryan Tannehill. If they don’t win the turnover battle they will not have a chance to win this game. If Tannehill is running around like Ryan Bennyhill, the Dolphins will not stand a chance to win this game.

The Dolphins need to shut down A.J. Green. Last week notwithstanding the Dolphins secondary had been strong and a key to them winning their first three games, with Xavien Howard making three key interceptions, while Minkah Fitzpatrick had a major impact in his first three games. If Green lights up the Dolphins, they will not stand a chance to win this game. The Bengals themselves are missing some players with leading rusher Giovani Bernard ruled out and tight end Tyler Eifert lost for the season after his gruesome ankle injury. So, they will be trying to get the ball to Green even more than normal. Stopping Green could create turnover chances and open the door for a much-needed win to erase the awful taste leftover from last week’s nightmare in Foxboro.

Let’s hope for a miracle, and last week was the mirage, not the first three games, Fins up!
