The Most Important Emoji In The History Of Emojis Is Finally Here. The Emoji Of The Future. The Lacrosse Emoji

The haters and losers, of which there are a plethora as demonstrated by the comment section of any single lacrosse blog I have ever written on Barstool Sports [dot] com, have to be shaking in their boots right now. It’s been long documented that lacrosse is the Sport of the Future. Whether some people choose to believe the fact or not remains a personal decision. But the fact of the matter here is that lacrosse is taking over and there’s nothing you can do about it. However, for a while it was possible for the non-believers to simply ignore the sport of lacrosse. They could just pretend it doesn’t exist and continue to go on about their lives. It’s not on TV that frequently besides maybe a few Saturdays during the spring on ESPNU and then it gets that primetime bump up to ESPN2 on Memorial Day Weekend. But the MLL doesn’t have a network television deal. The NLL doesn’t have a network television deal. So it’s been pretty easy for the haters to ignore the sport.

But then I came along and so did The Crease Dive and it started to get a little more difficult. Sure, people could just not click on the blogs or not download the podcast. And the numbers seem to suggest that is the case for many. But lacrosse content has still been unavoidable on the site unless you are Helen Keller, in which case you haven’t seen or heard any of it. Are Helen Keller jokes still funny? Good, I thought so.

And now? Well now the lacrosse emoji is finally here and for the first time ever, it is 100% impossible for anybody to simply ignore the sport of lacrosse ever again. Texts, Tweets, Instagrams, MySpace profiles. You name it, the lacrosse emoji will be there waiting for you. Every single corner you turn, the lacrosse emoji will be there to smack you in the face. There is no escaping it. There is only embracing it.

So here we are. October 3, 2018. As Imagine Dragons would say, welcome to a new age. Lacrosse is the sport of the future and now we have the emoji to demonstrate it. No more using a hockey net to serve as a lacrosse goal. No more typing out —–<#) to look like a lacrosse stick. Getting an emoji was step #1 to truly legitimizing the sport as a major player in the world of professional athletics. Now we watch as the rest of the chips fall into place. I’ll see you all on the other side.
