Please Join Me In Wishing Ernie Johnson A Speedy Recovery

Well this fucking sucks. As of Ernie Johnson hasn’t been through enough with his health, I hate hearing that he is now dealing with blood clots in both of his legs. That is some scary shit and an issue you absolutely do not want to mess around with. Add in the fact that postseason baseball is right around the corner and I enjoy hearing him cover it, that’s just rubbing salt on the wound.

For those who don’t know, back in 2003 Ernie Johnson was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and like the beast that he is worked through 2006. He missed some events like the British Open and the PGA Championship and somehow was back in his normal chair for Inside The NBA in late October 2006, while still undergoing chemo.

To me, Ernie Johnson will go down as one of the best sportscasters of my lifetime. I love him. He’s been doing it since 1977 and has been part of TNT’s NBA coverage since 1990. He mans what in my opinion is the best late night TV show in America, Inside The NBA, so for selfish reasons I also hope everything ends up OK for him because I need him back and on that show for this upcoming regular season. The good news is I’m pretty sure they film that in ATL where he lives, so he shouldn’t have to worry about flying.

Either way, even though this is terrible news and all of us watching postseason baseball will miss Ernie, please join me in wishing him a speedy recovery. Also, if God is reading this, stop picking on Ernie would ya? And because it’s Monday and you don’t want to work, here you go.
