Apparently You Can't Sell Weed Edibles At A Church Bake Sale

VIBE- When business insiders speak of having an entrepreneurial spirit, this isn’t exactly what they had in mind. Two women were reportedly arrested last weekend for selling weed edibles at a church event in Savannah, Georgia. According to a statement by the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team, the event was held for local entrepreneurs, which allowed vendors to set-up various booths on church grounds and sell merchandise. Ebony Cooper, 28, was openly selling the edibles at her table on the grounds of the East 37th Street church. She also reportedly advertised her edibles on her various social media channels. Some of the items Cooper sold at the event included cereal treats, brownies, and pudding. It’s unclear if children were at the church event.

Undercover cops attending the event purchased some of her edibles and then followed Cooper to meet 26-year-old Leah Pressley at a separate location. Inside Pressley’s vehicle, cops found more edibles and about $1,000 in cash. Law enforcement also seized a loaded firearm.

That’s some bullshit. Are we trying to raise money for The Lord or not? That’s what the cops have to ask themselves. These arrests send mixed signals to say the least. I get that weed is illegal and blah blah blah but you can’t be putting the legal shackles on people when they’re trying to raise money for The Lord. I’m pretty sure Jesus of Nazareth accepts all donations, no matter where they come from. The money be green? The church will take it. End of story. Doesn’t matter if it comes from running guns or prostitution or selling weed brownies at the church bake sale, Father will take the cash. That’s how it’s always been.

You know what probably happened? Ebony’s treats and brownies and pudding was flying off the shelves and some other jealous bitch from the congregation ratted on her. Actually I guarantee that’s what happened. Church folk are all about community and help thy neighbor until somebody else’s stand at the bake sale is popping off and their’s is a ghost town. Whoever snitched on Ebony needs to be reminded that putting community above self (and the law) is how religion is supposed to work. Does the church want new pews or not? Does the church want more loaves of communion bread than they know what to do with? Well then they need to come together and not snitch on one another.
