The Emmys Left Mac Miller Off Their In Memoriam Tribute
I know what you’re thinking. The Emmys are about TV shows. Mac Miller was a musician. Why would they pay tribute to his life at a TV award show?
I mean, don’t get it twisted. If you think I have a problem with John McCain getting an In Memoriam anywhere, at any time, at any event, you’ve got a big dump in your pants. It just means that there’s not really a precedent that people from other mediums can’t be recognized. Which means Mac was just a straight up exclusion, not ineligible.
Also featured was musician Aretha Franklin.
Again, no problem with that, OBVIOUSLY. Aretha’s an icon. It just shows that we’re putting non actors in the Memoriam here.
And, just to add to the point – Mac had a TV show, on TV, for 2 full seasons on MTV2, which again, aired on television.
I mean I’m not saying he should get an Emmy for it. But if your argument is he was never on TV, well.

Not gonna get on my high horse about it. Just think it sucks.
PS,
John McCain had a cameo in 24. People forget that. As if he wasn’t enough of a legend.
