Wake Up With Kevin Millar Doing His Best Willie Mays Hayes Impression

I love Kevin Millar and I really don’t care who knows it. I thought he was a hell of a baseball player when he was on Boston, he was such a character when he came to Baltimore, and he’s fantastic on MLB Network. Pretty good Instagram follow as well. This is a great Millar moment in my mind, very few people could actually manage to do this, but good old Kevin did.

We see a young Millar with some blonde streaks in his hair with the Florida Marlins. Laces a ball down the third baseline and it looks like it’s bound for the wall, it actually hits off the stands and bounces right to Pat Burrell, he makes a perfect throw and Kevin is out by a mile. He gives it a good go and tries to slide in, but boyyyy oh boy does he mess that up. He ends up with a face full of dirt and does his best Willy Mays Hayes impression. He ends up a few feet short of second and is tagged out.

If that second baseman had a funny bone in his body he would have given Millar the “come on” finger wave. But no, he was a wet blanket and just tagged him out. Embarrassed, and probably with a nose full of dirt, Millar lays on his back starring at the sky. Not much else you can do if you pull that move, but at least it was Millar and he could play it up. Never change, Kevin Millar.
