Bishop Apologizes After Getting Accused Of Groping Ariana Grande At Aretha Franklin's Funeral

BBC- The bishop who led Aretha Franklin’s funeral has apologised to Ariana Grande after being accused of groping her on stage. Images show Bishop Charles H Ellis III holding Ariana high above her waist, with his fingers squeezed around the side of the singer’s chest. “It would never be my intention to touch any woman’s breast,” he told the Associated Press. “Maybe I crossed the border, maybe I was too friendly or familiar.” He added: “But again, I apologise.” The preacher said he hugged all artists, male or female, during the ceremony commemorating the Queen of Soul. But viewers began posting images from the service when Ariana got up to sing Aretha’s song (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. “I personally and sincerely apologise to Ariana and to her fans and to the whole Hispanic community,” the bishop said. “When you’re doing a program for nine hours you try to keep it lively, you try to insert some jokes here and there.”

What a whirlwind of apologies from that bishop. My head is spinning. Let’s get this straight. First he apologized during Aretha Franklin’s funeral to Ariana Grande because he thought her name was a new item on a Taco Bell menu. Classic joke but people got pissed about it. So then after the funeral he apologized to the Hispanic community for saying Ariana Grande’s name sounded like a new item on a Taco Bell menu. THEN he also apologized for groping Ariana Grande using yet another weird joke and saying he maybe crossed the border. Fucking wild. Apologizing for an apology while using the same type of joke that got him in trouble during the first apology. My brain hurts.

Lemme say this, the bishop’s hand was a little too high and tight on Ariana Grande during the funeral. And by a little I mean a lot. He was way up there and around. I feel like people will be be outraged about the outrage this caused but his hand was too high. That hand replacement is normally reserved for post-date night dinner after you’ve had a few adult soda pops with your significant other. Definitely too high for a funeral service. You just know it when you see it.

What a wild couple of weeks for Ariana Grande. First she gets involved in #ButtholeEyesGate and gets dragged by the medical community for her ill-informed diagnosis and then she finds herself involved in an apology tour from a bishop who got too handsy at Aretha Franklin’s funeral.
