Clint Frazier Calls Out Yankees Play By Play Announcer Michael Kay on Twitter After Kay Shamed Him For 'Not Being Healthy' As Clint Battles Concussions
Well, Clint Frazier decided to light some fireworks last night right after the Yankees game ended. Earlier in the day, Michael Kay seemingly called out Clint for not being healthy and said shame on him. Listen to the clip above, and you would think from the wording that he wasn’t being serious, but listen to the tone he says it in and it comes off as serious. It was a pretty fucking stupid thing to say on the airwaves I thought, especially about a dude who has been battling concussions all year and is in a pretty helpless situation. You want to call out Jacoby Ellsbury for not being healthy? Fine, because I’m pretty sure he’s just making up injuries at this point. But Clint has been desperately trying to get healthy and get back in this lineup. He’s detailed his fight with the symptoms and how he’s had trouble doing normal day to day activities. He wants to be here badly, and for Kay to say that was pretty stupid. I’m not a Kay guy, and much prefer my boy Ryan Ruocco anyways, and it’s comments like these that make me sway my opinion of him in a negative way.
Now I think Clint was in the wrong for taking this to Twitter. Love you Clint, but there are better ways to handle this. I would think the organization was not too pleased when they saw this. Still, Kay is better than saying something so stupid on the air. Clint had every right to call him out I just think he could have done it in a better way. Michael Kay is currently on vacation from his radio show, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he comes back tomorrow to fight this fight. Ugly.
