Matt Harvey Refusing To Move The Time Of His Press Conference At Citi Field To Accommodate The Mets Has Me Falling Back In Love With Him Again

Uncuncel da Harvey! Seeing that tweet instantly erased years of bad play, embarrassing moments, and knucklehead decisions by Matt Harvey in my eyes. He’s the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. Yeah that is the exact kind of bullshit that would have driven me crazy if Harvey was still wearing orange and blue in Flushing. But now that he is a Red, I can’t get enough of him telling the Mets to go fuck themselves. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. And even though I am a Mets fan, make no mistake about it, the Mets are my enemy. They are the ones that ruin the summer and the sport of baseball for me every year. Shit, I wish it was just the summer. The Mets misery now dips into the winter when they try to make bargain basement signings like picking up a 36-year-old Adrian Gonzalez to play first base for a big market team that has cheap, young pitching but needs offensive help. The Wilpons have waged war on millions of Mets fans to the point where doctors are offering free therapy for Mets fans. So Matt Harvey telling the worst PR team in the history of sports/mankind to count rocks feels like a small win for Mets fans that can do nothing to an ownership group that is being pried up by Major League Baseball.

Now the Big J Journos have quite a predicament at 4 PM today. Do they talk to the shitty pitcher or even shittier manager at 4 PM? Talk about a dilemma! Just kidding. Who the fuck cares what Mickey Callaway has to say? Hopefully Harvey has a boulder in his lip and ethers everyone in that clown shoe of a franchise before talking for 20 minutes straight about Qualcomm. It’s a shame Harvey isn’t scheduled to pitch this series, because being able to bet on Harvey throwing a 3-hit shutout in his first game against the Mets would have been free money. I guess we will just have to settle on betting that he will throw multiple no-hitters and win multiple rings with the Yankees instead.
