Wake Up With A 20-Year-Old Miguel Cabrera Hitting A Home Run Off Of 41-Year-Old Roger Clemens In The World Series After Clemens Throws At Cabrera

This was the moment that the world knew Miguel Cabrera was a bad man. At 20-years-old, coming off his rookie season where he hit 12 homers, drove in 62, and batted .268, he stood in the box and showed he wouldn’t take shit from anyone, including one of the best pitchers we’ll ever see. In a World Series no less!

Down 2-1 in the series, Miguel Cabrera gets buzzed upstairs by Roger Clemens. Rocket is obviously trying to send a message to the kid and back him off the plate. Cabrera just stares at Clemens. I mean daggers right through his Texas heart. Idk who I’m more scared of in that situation. Clemens was a freak, but Miggy is also kind of a lunatic.

Miggy has a great at-bat against Rocket and eventually wins the battle by driving a ball over the right field fence. He finishes it with quite a bat toss too. I’m sure that pissed off Roger, but not more than being shown up by a 20-year-old rookie. Probably made his blood boil. Nothing worse than trying to intimidate someone and then them just shoving it right back down your throat. What a moment for the youngster as he would go on to help the Marlins win this World Series in 6 games. This was one of those Fall Classics that I was convinced the Yankees would come back and win until the last out. Crazy this Marlins team was in first place in their division for a grand total of 0 days and won it all.
