Double Amputee F3 Racer Sips Champagne From Leg To Celebrate Win

In April of 2017, 17-year-old F4 (entry-level category for young drivers) racer Billy Monger lost both of his legs in a terrifying crash. Only a few months later he was up & walking to raise funds for the air ambulance that saved him and vowing to return to racing.

Fast forward to 2018 & he’s fought a ban on disabled drivers & kept that vow. Over the weekend Monger sipped champagne out of his own leg on the podium after taking 3rd place in the British F3 Spa-Francorchamps.

His inspiration for this move dubbed ‘the leggy’ is F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo’s ‘shoey celebration’.

And Ricciardo clearly approved.

Fucking lad, indeed. When he’s not racing, Monger is improving his skills as a stunt driver & spends time with Mission Motorsport, a non-profit that helps injured vets get into racing as a way to encourage recovery. Hoping for many more ‘leggy’s’ in this gent’s future.
