The Nathan Fillion UNCHARTED Fan Movie Is Not Terrible

(EW) “For years, gamers have been dream-casting Fillion as Nathan Drake, the thrill-seeking tomb raider of the Uncharted franchise. This became reality (albeit unofficially) in a story centered on the lost treasure of the Flor de la Mar ship. Stephen Lang of Avatar portrays Nathan’s old friend and mentor Sully, Episodes’ Mircea Monroe pops in as Nathan’s wife, Elena, and the cast is rounded out by Geno Segers and Ernie Reyes Jr.”

I only ever played the first Uncharted and the gameplay was ok, but I was a fan because of how fun and engaging the storyline was. People have been clamoring for a movie adaptation for years, specifically one starring Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly) and it’s awesome to see him take the reigns and make it himself. It’s worth noting that a feature length movie has been in the works and is supposed to star Tom Holland (Spiderman: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War) and directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Stranger Things) but has had trouble getting off the ground.

I love both Nathan Fillion and Stephen Lang(Avatar, Don’t Breathe) and this fan film really wasn’t bad for what it was. In 15 minutes they give you some action, thieving, laughs, and a nice little cliffhanger at the end. I especially liked the part where “El Tigre” is swinging like Curley while Drake holds his head. That’s just great cinema.

I’d also be dumb if I didn’t mention Fillion has cheeks for weeks. I mean, christ, dude rivals Lowry and Yabu with those warlocks. Lastly, since I’m not an expert in video games, I called up a buddy of mine who is.

And now a message from Barstool Gametime

Lover of video games Devlin here, and although I can’t say I’m the world’s biggest Uncharted fan, I am very much ALL IN on this movie getting made. Truthfully I’ve only played Uncharted 4… And I barely got halfway through before the endless wall climbing sent me into utter madness. It was a well-paced story with plenty of compelling dialogue, but that’s exactly what bothered me. I had TOO much fun putting my controller down and watching it all go down. Intriguing ancient mysteries I wanted to see resolved? Sure. Repeating gameplay that made me feel like I was playing an inferior version of Hitman? Yes. Aside from Crash Bandicoot, I would’ve honestly preferred to just watch the entire game play out.

I have thought about starting from the very beginning of the Uncharted series but I feel like it’s too late for me at this point. Another reason I couldn’t finish 4? I was JUST warming up to those dirt stained Henley’s and realized I couldn’t risk seeing Drake fall off a cliff in the grand finale. Is that what happens? DON’T TELL ME. But I would absolutely watch a feature length Uncharted movie. Get those supple cheeks a moving Nathan Fillion!

Someday I may still return to the lands of Uncharted and any threats to do so are welcome. I would like to add that Nathan Drake’s brother was a piece of shit and I do not care to see him redeemed. So if that’s the case I am OUT.

HOWEVA, if they want to start a Sully spinoff series with Slang (Stephen Lang) then sign me TF up.

Lest we forget, THIN AIR MAKES YA WEAK. Also Don’t Breathe was just terrific.
