Coors Field Streaker Nearly Finds Freedom, Gets Jacked Up By Another Fan

I was just minding my business when this video appeared on the TL. A streaker ran onto the field at the Rockies-Mariners game tonight. No big deal, happens seemingly every week somewhere around the League. This Nuggets fan seemed to have escaped with a textbook hurdle over the outfield wall. But the angle wasn’t great, I thought he may have fucked up his landing and caught his midsection on a seat or some shit. But this video shows roughly 100 other people with phones out recording this, so I figure someone else must’ve posted it from a better angle. Maybe there was another security guard waiting in the wings to take this kid out. I had to know how this streaker got caught up when he was oh so close to sweet, sweet freedom.

Well, that was certainly unexpected. Don’t recall ever seeing a regular fan put their shoulder into a streaker who had inexplicably made their way back into the stands. Especially coming from some kid who looks like he could’ve been an extra on the mountain in Johnny Tsunami.

Hero? This has never been part of the streaker rule book. You make it across that field and back into the stands you’ve won. That’s home base for a streaker. The fans are supposed to be on your side. They’re not supposed to morph into Terry Tate Office Linebacker and lower the boomstick into your sternum. I’m not saying streakers are good people. Quite the contrary. But rules are rules. This is a society, and if we’re gonna start making shit up on the fly then we’ve descended into complete chaos and utter pandemonium. We’re at a crossroads with this incident and we need to figure out what kind of precedent we want officially on the record. We either want fans laying the lumber and taking out streakers like this guy, OR we keep the status quo and leave it to the security guards in between the lines.
