Wake Up With An NBA Countdown: Best Buzzer Beaters

Sacramento Kings v Los Angeles Lakers Game 4

Good morning everyboday, happy Friday! We did it, we made it through the week and the weekend is in our sights. For those of you who may have been off for a long time over the fourth, I can only imagine what hardships you went through getting back into the swing of things. That’s why for today’s video I wanted to do something everybody with a pulse loves and one that would bring you some joy this morning to help get you through your day.

Buzzer beaters.

I don’t care who your favorite team is, you cannot hate seeing last second shots fall, especially when the player is at home. This video is loaded with people that I despise, and yet I loved watching their game winning shots. Everything about buzzer beaters rule, you don’t exactly need me to tell you that, and what’s great about the NBA is each and every year we always get a great crop of plays to add to the mix. Now this video cheats a little bit because it includes a couple college ones, but I don’t think anyone is going to be upset with that.

What’s awesome to me about buzzer beaters is they literally can come from anyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re LeBron or MJ or the last guy on the bench, you never know where a desperation heave could come from that finds the bottom of the net. It’s one of those rare awesome NBA moments that don’t require some sort of superstar skill. You don’t have to be all that athletically gifted, you don’t have to be an All Star level player, none of that. You just have to have the balls to attempt it, which may separate a few from others, but the point remains. The unpredictability of buzzer beaters and who they could come from is why I find them so much fun.

So I’ll ask you, in addition to watching this video, what is your personal favorite buzzer beater? Anyone see some of the ones you’re about to watch in person? Tell me about it because like I said it’s Friday and I don’t feel much like working. As a reminder if there’s anything you’d like to see in this blog to help jumpstart your day, just list them in the comments. In the meantime enjoy today’s video and have yourself a great Friday!
