Apparently Boogie Almost Picked The Celtics Which Is Cool

Well this is certainly a turn of events. Considering the money was probably the same given the Celtics cap situation I find this rather unfortunate. Normally when it comes to free agents signing we get a list of like 5 teams that were in contention and the Celts are somewhere in there. But to make the final two? Yeah that stings. I still have no problem with Boogie going there, and honestly you shouldn’t either in my opinion. He was always going to get a prove it deal and decided to go to the best situation possible. The Warriors don’t have Bird Rights so he’s most likely gone in a year, the same way he would have been gone for the Celts in a year. Sure this may feel like Kevin Durant all over again, but considering none of us even knew this was a possibility to begin with I can’t be too upset it didn’t happen. I almost prefer it this way, because I didn’t have all night to YouTube every player coming off an achilles injury to convince myself Boogie would be the next great Celtic. I’d probably be waaaaay more upset if that were to happen.

Allow me to spinzone instead. The fact that the Celtics were even in contention shows me that big time free agents are seriously considering the Celtics. I don’t want to get ahead of myself but you know who could potentially have a big man spot open in a few years? Remember we lived at a time where the Celts couldn’t even get a sniff from All Star level talent, now we’re in contention with GS (although 0-2), I’ll take that all day. Don’t lose any sleep over what could have been, rest easy knowing we can still give all the minutes to Aron Baynes, Daniel Theis, Yabu, and Robert Williams.

Take that GS, see you in June
