We Have A GREAT Field At The Travelers Championship This Week

Travelers Championship - Final Round

We have a phenomenal field up in Connecticut this week. I typically post a lengthy tournament preview, but I had a full slate yesterday complete with a meeting with my friend USGA so had to miss out. It’s now too late for a preview but we’re still going to talk about the event.

The field is phenomenal. Props to the tournament officials who have excelled drawing some of the game’s top talent to Cromwell, CT the week after the U.S. Open. Last year, the Travelers treated us to the most memorable moment of the entire season.

Spieth would go on to win the British Open just a few weeks later (with a few of the other most memorable moments, including “the bogey” on 13 followed by the birdie –> eagle to snag the lead).

This year we’re again blessed with a STRONG field: Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Jason Day, Patrick Reed, Daniel Berger, Webb Simpson, Patrick Cantlay.

Fore Play guys in the field: Dylan Meyer, Keegan Bradley, Wesley Bryan, Stewart Cink, Austin Cook, Jon Curran, Brian Harman, Padraig Harrington, Charley Hoffman, Billy Hurley III, Smylie Kaufman, Patton Kizzire, Pat Perez, Ryan Palmer, Ollie Schniederjans, Harold Varner III, Steve Wheatcroft (rocks a Barstool head cover).

Here are some of my favorite holes.

I especially like this hole because Bubba topped one into the drink here in 2016.

We had recent Illinois grad and top-20 U.S. Open finisher Dylan Meyer on this week’s show. He’s a feisty, interesting, and well-spoken dude. Plus we relived our entire inside-the-ropes experience at Shinnecock.

Enjoy River Highlands.
