Wedding Pizza Bouquet Inspires Barstool Kitchenette Bouquet

Villa Italian Kitchen (AKA the Rolls Royce of travel-stop pizza chains in a world depressed by Sbarro’s) is gaining attention for its ‘Wedding Season’ promotion. This month, engaged couples were able to register to win a bouquet & boutonniere for their big day that are made from:

-Freshly prepared pizza dough
-100% whole milk mozzarella
-fresh California tomatoes
-zesty pepperoni

Basically, a meaty ‘edible arrangement’ that you can use at your wedding & then reheat in the microwave on your one-year anniversary. If you don’t win the contest, there’s no shame in going the DIY route, and it will still be unique & delicious (::whispering:: everyone will be grossed out & know you’re a poooooor).

Side note, as usual this sent me down a rabbit hole. Villa Italian Kitchen tapped graphic artist Jessie Bearden to create the bouquet. She seems to have a knack for making cool art out of food.

And it made me want to see if I was skilled enough to do the same. I made a ‘Barstool Bouquet’ out of things I found in the office kitchenette:

-fresh banana
-single, frozen Twix that I noticed laying on the bottom of the freezer unwrapped
-a couple Advils that were floating around
-some baked Cheetos, for health

It seemed funny at first, until I was taping Cheetos to a banana like a freak, & had to keep explaining the (attempted) joke to people around me. Neat. Anyways, you can win that banana for your wedding if you get to the back-alley dumpster by 9AM tomorrow.
