Kick The Back Of My Seat One More Time And See What Happens

Just kidding. I’ll continue to sit here politely ’cause I’m a little bitcc.

But deep down inside I’ll be raging like I’m Bobby Knight trapped in a stadium where the fans won’t sit down.

And later I’ll take it out on my boyfriend. And then I’ll be even angrier when I remember I don’t have a boyfriend because I’ve got too much pent up travel-rage inside, and it makes me unloveable. And then eventually I’ll die alone and get eaten by rats.

Yes, this all circles back to bad travel etiquette, and it’s not just me. With the average person going on five flights/spending 14 nights in a hotel per year, assholes are bound to happen. This is exemplified in an Expedia survey on ‘2018 Hotel and Travel Etiquette‘, which over 18K people from around the globe took part in.

When it comes to flights, this is what made people craziest:

Flights

-Seat Kicker/Bumper/Grabber (51%)
-Stinky Passenger (43%)
-Parents Letting Kids Go Wild (39%)
-Personal Space Violators (34%)
-Loud With Electronic Devices (29%)

I was in full agreement with the flight stats, but with the hotel one, not so much:

Hotels

-Parents Letting Kids Go Wild (45%)
-In-Room Rowdiness & Hallway Hellraisers (41%)
-Whiners (29%)
-Partiers & Drunks (27%)

As someone who is well versed in the 2nd and 4th on that list, I had to roll my eyes. Who amongst us hasn’t smoked a cigarette in a fancy elevator or accidentally clogged a bathtub with tiny pizza roll pepperonis at a Fall soiree? (Subtle way to brag that I’ve had too many alcoholic beverages at like, several wedding receptions. NBD.)

Speaking of, they also gathered data on the nationality of the drunkest fliers. In the top three from ‘shithoused’ to ‘just pretty toasted':

-South Koreans
-Thai folks

And drumroll please

-USA! USA! USA!

#3! We did it! I say it’s what we have to do to block out the smells, nosy neighbors and seat kicking to maintain our sanity. Make it a double, please.

Bonus: Here’s Barstool’s @CaptainCons getting owned by a woman on the train.
