Patrick Reed Was Refused A Free Drop On Sunday And Said, "I Guess My Name Needs To Be Jordan Spieth"

I’ve made my decision. I’m a fan of Patrick Reed. It took a few years of being on the fence about him but I’m officially on his side. He’s a polarizing guy for sure. He’s maybe the most polarizing guy in golf. There’s two sides of him that pulls fans in both directions. One is that Reed is kind of an asshole. There are stories out there about him being an asshole. He’s extremely cocky and that turns some people off. The other side is that he’s an American hero because of his performances in the Ryder Cup. He really is Captain America. He’s a beast and drags his nuts on the ground every two years. That’s a very tough thing to hate. So many people are conflicted about how they feel about Patrick Reed.

The thing that I’ve come to like about him is that he’s always himself and doesn’t give a fuck what anyone thinks. It’s the thing Bubba Watson has never figured out. Just be yourself. If you’re a cocky asshole, be a cocky asshole. That’s fine. The people who respect authenticity will follow. Reed has recently been catching flack for wearing black and red on Sundays just like Tiger (despite it being an homage to Tiger). I love it. A lesser man would’ve folded to the pressure and started wearing other colors on Sunday. Not Patrick Reed. He still wears it loud and proud despite Tiger being in contention. If anything, I bet the hate makes him wanna wear black and red even more.

Reed saying his name needs to be Jordan Spieth was funny as shit. It’s perfectly Patrick Reed. Kind of being a dick. Kind of being funny. 100% being himself. The joke didn’t totally land with the people around him but those people are dumb.

Oh and anyone who thinks Spieth will be mad about what he said are dumb too. These colors don’t run
