The Idea That "Penn State Turned Down Urban Meyer" Is The Funniest Report I've Ever Heard

So there’s a report out there that Urban Meyer wanted to be the next Penn State head coach, so he interviewed for the job, and Penn State turned him down. You heard that right, Penn State said not thanks to Urban Meyer, not the other way around.

Let me be clear: if Urban Meyer called a custodian in the Penn State facility today and said I want to be the Nittany Lions next football coach, and I want to be the highest paid coach in the country, and I want a statue outside the stadium, AND I want you to change the school colors from the traditional blue and white that you’ve worn for 138 years to pink and purple….Penn State would get all of that done by noon today.

The report said it was because Urban did not have a sufficient enough answer to a question about NIL.....

The idea that Penn State would turn down Urban Meyer, who is not just one of the top 5 coaches in college football history, but one of his biggest strengths is his ability to recruit the top players in the nation from all over the country, and the reason they said no would be because of his answers on NIL?

First of all he didn’t have to coach in the NIL era, so if this report were true, which it’s not, if you don’t like his answer Penn State, tell him the right one. Because the fact of the matter is that if you give me Urban Meyer and a boat load of cash to recruit, 5 stars across the country are going to be lining up on the doorstep of wherever he is.

I can’t stop laughing thinking about how Penn State is optimistically the 3rd best job opening at the moment, would have the 3rd best college football coach in the history of the sport trying to take the position, and Pat Kraft would say anything other than how many zeroes do you want at the end of your paycheck? I won’t even mention the 3 National Titles Urban has compared to Penn States zero in my lifetime, Urban Meyer has won more Big Ten titles in the last decade than Penn State has as a program, and he’s been retired for 7 years. 

Penn State turned down Urban Meyer, ha! Urban, of course, denies the ridiculous rumor.....
