For The 2nd Straight Year, Kevin Stefanski Is Giving Up Playcalling Duties Halfway Through The Season

So the big news out of Berea today is that Kevin Stefanski has decided to give up his playcalling duties....

Oops. Wrong tweet. I accidentally embedded last year's tweet from when he gave up his playcalling duties at the end of October. What I should've done was embedded the tweet from this morning when he gave up his playcalling duties on the 3rd day of November.

Here's a couple takes I have on this decision:

- Doesn't this seem like a Front Office mandated decision? Or if not, doesn't this seem like a weird attempt at a Hail Mary by Stefanski to cover his own ass? You simply can't run this move back two years in a row.

- Can Stefanski still script the opening drive and then Tommy Rees call the rest of the game? Say what you want about the guy, he can script a fucking opening drive

- This seems like the end may be coming for Kevin. When you start making decisions like this (twice), it appears that you're looking for some sort of scapegoat so if things go really bad, you're the not the one getting let go. And again, that works once. How can you run this same play two years in a row?

Regardless, one thing stacked against Tommy Rees in his new job duty is that the Browns are still riding with Dillon Gabriel this week.

Why? I've seen enough out of him to know that he is not a QB1 in the NFL. And that doesn't mean I think Shedeur Sanders is, but shockingly, the undersized, weak armed, non athletic, SHORT QB from Hawaii is not going to be the final piece of the puzzle in Cleveland, Ohio. So why not give Shedeur a try?

I guess it's possible that they're giving everyone one last chance against one of the worst teams in the NFL, the Jets. If we can't beat the Jets this Sunday, I think it's possible there's more than a few people whose job description (or status) may be changing next week.
