Big Dom Shows He's A Big Man With An Even Bigger Heart, Brought Cheesesteaks And Pizza To Cam Skattebo In The Hospital

Dom DiSandro. He's an intimidating figure for sure. A beast of a man who looks like he would be Skinny Joey Merlino if Skinny Joey Merlino decided to eat 7 Joey Merlino's. He looks like the type of fella who knows where a few bodies have been dumped in the Schuylkill. 

But inside that behemoth of a man is a heart. And a heart that is somehow even larger than the man it belongs to. Because after Cam Skattebo suffered a vomit-inducing, horrifyingly disturbing ankle injury on Sunday afternoon, Big Dom made sure to drop by the hospital today to lift his spirits with some of the finest culinary offerings that Philly has to give. 

If I had to guess, Big Dom probably went the extra mile here and made sure he brought the good stuff. He probably stopped into Angelo's so Cam Skattebo could have the best cheesesteak of his life. 

These are the things that national media doesn't want you to know about Philadelphia. The narrative is forever and always going to be about snowballs at Santa Claus, or booing Michael Irvin's career ending neck injury, or throwing batteries at JD Drew. But this is the City of Brotherly Love. The city that will watch you grotesquely snap your ankle in half, and make sure you have a delicious hot meal ready for you as you're coming out of surgery. 

Not to mention, the fans at the Linc on Sunday gave Skattebo a nice, heartfelt ovation as he was leaving the field. 

Class. Philadelphia. The two words are synonymous.
