Margot Robbie Rumored To Be Playing Patrick Bateman In A Gender Swapped 'American Psycho' Remake? Luca Guadagnino, You Old Sailor You!
Margot Robbie picking up the bloody chainsaw mantle as Patrice Bateman? Uhhh SOLD! Honestly maybe one of the only gender swapped roles that actually makes sense too. Plus we already got a quick taste of what that remake might look like when she teamed up with Vogue a few years ago. Delicious.
(The Sun) - Released in 2001, the film is an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s satirical 1991 novel which received a widespread backlash over its graphic and violent content. A film source said: “A remake of American Psycho is in the works and Margot is in the frame to play a female version of Patrick Bateman. “Brett’s novel and the film were so controversial and the people working on the remake wanted to twist the narrative by having a female actress take on the lead of Bateman. “There was a huge backlash about misogyny when the novel came out back in the Nineties.
“And by having a female killer, it puts a different spin on the crimes. Margot’s career is on fire at the moment. Taking on a role this gritty will really show what a sensational actress she is. The finer details are still being ironed out but everyone that is involved in the process so far have said they are so excited to get it announced and start work.”
You can always be thinner, look better… And there's very few humans on earth who exemplify that fact better than Margot. Frankly we could all learn a thing or two about her fitness & facial routine.
And of course she's been stunning since Day 1 but I think the more impressive part of her career is the fearlessness she's shown taking on so many wild roles. She's no one trick pony. However, even if she ends up just retreading her Bateman into Harley Quinn without makeup, I will surely still be seated. Combining that dementia with the cuntyness of the Duchess plus the guy who directed 'Challengers' feels like a pretty potent mix.

For now it's just a rumor though and I know Austin Butler has also been floated as a possible Bateman too. Part of me wonders why the fuck anyone would even attempt to remake a perfect movie that remains one of the greatest dark comedies ever made… But most of me is thinking about how Margot would pull off giving the iconic Phil Collins threesome scene a clear, crisp look, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the movie a big boost. I'm sure she'd crush it!

Hey, a boy can dream right? But my guess is this won't work out, mainly because Margot remains booked & busy. It's okay though, I'd rather see her stretch out as the 50 Foot Woman anyway. For any hopeful psychos still out there, the Vogue video will have to do.
