The Falcons Got Absolutely Obliterated by the Miami Dolphins at Home and Are No Longer Frisky, Fun or Worth a Damn

I am an idiot. The disappointment I feel following the Atlanta Falcons' 34-10 home loss to the previously 1-6 Dolphins is directed only at myself for ever believing this team was capable of achieving anything this season. A 7-10 finish for the sixth time in the last eight years is probably the ceiling for this group after seeing that performance.

Yes, Michael Penix and Drake London were out, but Kirk Cousins is still making $40 million this season. He made Penix look like Joe Montana. Atlanta rushed for 45 yards. The defense couldn't stop a nose bleed. And again, all of this came at home against one of the worst teams in the NFL.

I am not upset at the Falcons, for this is what they do. They have proven themselves reliable in this regard for many years. My only regret is that I momentarily let my guard down and allowed myself to think this year might have something different in store.

It does not.
