"I Don't Care, Shut The Fuck Up. Fuck You, I Don't Give A Fuck" - Buddy Hield Had The Perfect Response To Some Random Blazers Fan Who Tried To Force Him To Apologize For Cursing

If there's one constant with every new NBA season, it's that eventually we're going to get our first player vs fan interaction. It won't quite be the Malice At The Palace, but every season usually brings us some sort of moment where a fan and a player go at it a little bit. Usually, it's because the fan says something stupid while heckling a player, which has always been something I find fascinating. My entire life and the thousands of games I've been to, that's always been weird to me to see while sitting in a crowd. I get booing and whatever. That's normal. But straight up berating a player or saying some crazy shit? That always felt super strange to me and always made me wonder why people can't just be normal and enjoy the game/sport.

Anyways, in the 2025-26 season, our first player vs fan interaction comes via Buddy Hield and some random Blazers fan

Alright now wait a goddamn minute. I wasn't sure what I expected to see when I saw this video come across my timeline, but the second I hit play, I found myself immediately on Buddy Hield's side. In fact, I don't think I could have been any more on Buddy Hield's side if I tried. Both videos were such a disaster that I couldn't look away. It was like driving by a car wreck. You know you shouldn't look, but you can't help it. I thought maybe the son was going to be a little kid or something, which on some level I would then agree that would be extremely fucked up of Buddy Hield. But when the camera panned to him in the car? That was an M. Night Shyamalan-level twist. I legit gasped.

The more the story unfolded, the worse it seemed to get. That poor security guard, what a tough spot. You could tell he was trying to do his best to make that guy understand nobody gave a shit. Based on his story, it sounds like this dude was being weird, tried to talk a little shit about how the Blazers were beating the Warriors all because Hield didn't stop what he was doing during the game and talk to his teenage son, and then when Buddy basically called him out on everything he thought taking this to the internet would be…a good move? What was the thought process there I wonder. That the entire internet would rally behind him and turn on Buddy Hield?? We're talking about swearing in front of a teenager? This is what I mean when I say I'm fascinated as to why people can't just be normal at games. You think his son gives a shit? I can't imagine that's the case. And now, for no reason, this poor guy has only made things 10000x worse. That's tough.

And you know what? If I'm a Warriors fan I love this from Hield. This is the type of edge the Warriors are going to need from Buddy Hield this season. This is a team in a win-now window, and their success/ceiling in part will depend on what version of Buddy Hield they get. As a Warriors fan, I want the version that's willing to tell an opposing fanbase to go fuck themselves. Add in some 40%+ three point shooting on high volume, and you're off and running. It wasn't like Hield was overly disrespectful or anything, I'd actually say his reaction was fairly normal given the situation.

If anything, something like this just highlights how warped people's brains get the second they buy a ticket to go to a professional sports game. Just because you have a ticket doesn't grant you the right to say whatever the hell you want to a player and not expect them to react back. To then take to the internet in an effort to try and make them look bad is an even worse look in my opinion.

Again, just be normal. I feel like that's Day 1 stuff when attending sporting events, especially NBA games where you're so close to the action/players, but I guess not.
