Not To Overreact, But Skinny Zion Williamson Looks Like An Absolute Force

Every offseason, we hear about how Player X is in the best shape of his life. It's something you hear at every Media Day, and if you're a player like Luka, you do a legit media tour about how skinny you now are. Of all the players that reworked their body over the summer, the most shocking in my opinion had to be Zion.

When I think of Zion, he's what I would call an "if only" type of player. If only he could stay healthy. If only he could get his conditioning/body figured out. If only he could put it all together etc.

Well, what if it's finally happening? I wanted to believe what he was saying at Media Day because I just can't sell my Zion stock just yet, and after watching Skinny Zion vs Wemby last night, I think we may be onto something here

I mean, you see it right? Skinny Zion is a PROBLEM. There are not many humans on earth that can go blow for blow with Wemby, yet that's exactly what Skinny Zion did. Mind you, this was also coming off his 27/9/5 on 47.6% shooting in the Pelicans opener against the Grizzlie,s where he went blow for blow with Ja

I know it's only late October and we've only had 2 games, but I'm in. I'm a believer in Skinny Zion both in terms of his ability to stay healthy and his ability to be an absolute monster on the court. I see a player who is back to matching the hype he had when entering the league out of Duke. It wasn't that long ago that Zion was as must watch as it gets for an NBA prospect, and that's how I felt watching that Spurs/Pelicans game,

That's always been the bummer when it comes to Zion. When he's on the floor, he's so amazing to watch. There's just not a whole lot of players like him in the league when he's right, but in prior years you always knew it was a matter of time before some sort of injury would happen and that'd be it.

But now with this new version? I dunno, I'm optimistic. I've always felt that Zion's injury issues were directly tied to his conditioning/body, so if that's going to be figured out and this is how he already looks going up against the best of the best, it's hard not to be excited and I'm not even a Pelicans fan. Sure they're 0-2 and will probably stink, but watching Zion is all I really care about. The NBA is better when talents like Zion are not only active, but dominant.

We have a long way to go, but I'd consider this a great start. We as fans deserve a fully healthy and dominant Zion season, and all signs point to Skinny Zion being the path to getting it
