A Pro Poker Player Called Out Chauncey Billups For Running A Rigged Poker Game Back In 2022
I could talk for days about the fascinating world of underground/private poker games, and I know about 10% of what the high rollers know. When I tell you guys these games are massive, think Molly's Game...but bigger, and a much higher chance they are fixed, rigged, and full of cheaters. (Not to mention the outrageous rake, dealers palming chips for themselves out of the pot, etc). But these underground/private games are HUGE. Massive, massive, massive. When Dan Bilzerian talks about how he's made most of his money playing poker, he's not talking about playing 2/5 down at the race track or the Stars 109 nightly. He's talking about playing private games with $100k/200k blinds. $20 mil buy-ins. Swings of money we could barely even imagine.
From what we can gather, the Chauncey Billups game was fairly big, and extremely corrupt. They would bring in celebrities/whales/any rich person they can find and cheat them out of their money. Here's one guy who has come forward about losing in that game. Not famous, just a rich crypto dude who got taken to the cleaners.
You might be thinking "how the fuck do you let that happen????". Well for starters, these people have a lot of money. But secondly, when you're at the table you just don't consider you're being cheated. You think the terrible players are getting lucky and you NEED to be in this game because of how bad the players are. Think about it- if you keep seeing horrendous players play really poor poker, you know your skill will win you boatloads in the long term if you out-wait the short term variance. Unfortunately when you're being cheated, that never comes.
How they cheated is yet to be confirmed. Some sort of combo of marked cards and special contact lenses. This video is going viral, but this would be an extremely stupid way to cheat, it's just way too obvious and easy to get caught. However, I guess it's possible and not for nothing, it shows the tech exists.

Also, Chauncey Billups could just be the tip of the iceberg. If he turns on other players, we could see a lot of huge names get called out. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But we know Kash Patel is trying to make a big name for himself by doing anything other than releasing the Epstein Files, so he'll want bigger names than Chauncey and Damon Jones.
