Everyone Is Calling Liam Coen The Next Great Coach Because Of This Locker Room Video Where He Calls Himself Out For Shitty Play Calls
It's a slow Friday, it's cold out, we're all just looking forward to Kentucky/Purdue preseason basketball tonight. So with that in mind, this is about Liam Coen and how this one video is winning everyone over:
Weird how simple accountability is winning everyone over. This is sort of what the Jags have done this year. They've put out a ton of videos after losses that show Coen talking to the team differently. It's refreshing in a way because we typically only get the celebration videos, guys going nuts, Jameis dancing with crutches, stuff like that. But Coen has won a ton of people over for the fact that the Jags are winning games and then he sounds like this after losses.
I'd say it's more the offensive creativity that Liam Coen has that makes him the next great coach. Plus, he pissed Steven Cheah off with how he left the Bucs, so that's a win too.
It does feel like Coen was made to be a head coach. He learned from Sean McVay, which basically is a cheat code to getting an NFL job. He sees the game differently in how he draws up plays. He's coached in the SEC and in the NFL, so there's a process to each one. But the fact he is willing to admit he fucked up play calling is important. You have to adapt in the NFL, look at how the game is played now. Everything is different than when we were growing up. You don't see fullbacks and smash mouth football often. It's quick passes to extend the run game, etc. So yeah, if you fuck it up, admit it.
Now, bring back the old school jerseys, get a kids head stuck in the Jags statue outside and you got a winning franchise again.
