Texas A&M At LSU Is The Waterloo For The Brian Kelly Era

The noise in the state of Louisiana is DEAFENING around Brian Kelly & the LSU Football program after a 31-24 loss at Vandy last Saturday.

2025 was billed as THE YEAR for LSU. They spent over 15 MILLION DOLLARS on this roster. The Tigers had a Heisman candidate returning in QB Garrett Nussmeier with 4 speed demons at WR. LSU also finally fixed the defense in the transfer portal and have a stud defensive co-ordinator in Blake Baker.

But things have not gone according to plan…..

Barstool's own T-Bob Hebert started for 3 years on LSU Offensive Line and had some poignant thoughts as well.

Nussmeier has fought three injuries all season and has been a shell of himself. The offensive line has been a total mess after losing two tackles to the NFL Draft & there is no running game in sight.

With two losses already, a third on Saturday would end the Tigers playoff chances before Halloween. 

Brian Kelly has frankly not fit in with South Louisiana culture either from Day 1. He also has an over 50 million dollar buyout that is a HUGE problem.

Why do I like LSU with a bad offensive line and star LB Whit Weeks out on defense against an undefeated team?

Because I have seen this exact scenario my whole life with the LSU Tigers. When their backs are against the wall on an SEC Saturday night in Death Valley, they ALWAYS find a way to pull some voodoo out for a big win (Ole Miss in 2024 comes to mind).

And Texas A&M is vulnerable. The Aggies gave up 40 points at Notre Dame and 42 at Arkansas last week. This mild upset can be done….

Will it save LSU's tumultous season? Prolly not with road trips to Alabama & Oklahoma still looming….

But a win will quiet the noise for a couple weeks.
