Better Win Now: Italy Head Coach Gennaro Gattuso Promises To Move Out Of The Country And 'Live Far Away' If They Don't Qualify For The World Cup

We got ourselves a public declaration to do something. We know how this goes and I won't let John Rich eat dogshit again. Can't have it, won't have it. But this might have even higher stakes because we're talking international soccer. Italy somehow missed the last two World Cups and haven't even made it out of group stage since they won it all in 2006. Sounds weird to say because Italy is one of the most successful international teams out there.

But this is where we are at. We have a couple games left in the European qualification process, at least the start of it. They are currently 3 points behind Norway in their group with a game against Moldova and Norway left. If they win the group, they go to the World Cup. If they finish second they have to go to the playoffs to make the World Cup. That's just setting the scene for now Gennaro Gattuso having to move out of the country. He obviously knows if he misses the World Cup, he's getting fired, so not like he's open to quitting here. 

Love a good public statement like this. Oh we're not going to make the World Cup, I'm outta here. Smart. People won't remember that you were on the 2006 team that won a World Cup. People won't remember the run with AC Milan. They'll only care that you didn't make this World Cup. Wish he put out where he'd move to, you gotta set the standard so we know where you're going to end up if Italy doesn't make it. Better tell your players that you need to win or you gotta go get a new house, new drivers license and change all paperwork.
