Obama's Presidential Center In Chicago Might Be The Ugliest Building Ever

Uhhhh let me be clear: this building sucks. 

Seriously, what was the thinking here? What about this grey chode screams "presidential" or even "American"? You know what it looks like to me?

About to run red vs blue with the fellas at the library. 

The background on this center is also kind of dumb. They were originally supposed to break ground on this in 2017, opening in 2020. That got pushed multiple times until they finally got to building in late 2021. The original estimate was around $300 million, but they're now saying it's closer to $850 million. They faced a lawsuit for building it in a public park and anger from nearby low-income residents fearing being ousted by gentrification. Yup, smells like a bloated government project to me! 

Just a nasty, brutalist and windowless rock dropped in the middle of a park. Chicago deserves better.
