Thoughts and Prayers For Stephen A. Smith After Serena Williams' Husband, Alexis Ohanian Put Him In A Body Bag Live On First Take

ENews- Alexis Ohanian aced his comeback to Stephen A. Smith.

Months after the First Take host weighed in on Serena Williams’ cameo during the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February—during which Stephen suggested he would divorce the tennis star—the Reddit co-founder shared some words of his own.

“Stephen A. Smith, I think you had some marriage advice for me,” Alexis—who shares daughters Olympia, 7 and Adira, 2, with Serena—said during his Oct. 9 appearance on First Take. “Is that right?”

Stephen—who appeared virtually—quickly clarified that he wasn’t trying to dish it out.

“I didn’t,” Stephen said. “You know the headlines. We can get into that another time.” He added, “I ain’t qualified my brother.”

For his part, Alexis—who has been married to Serena since 2017—took the opportunity to point out why he wouldn’t take Stephen’s advice to heart.

"I was gonna ask, 'cause, you hadn’t been married before, right?" Alexis said. “'Cause I give advice to plenty of founders who want to build billion-dollar companies. And the reason I do that is because I build billion-dollar companies, so I generally try to stay in my lane."

In response, Stephen agreed, saying, “That’s right," as his cohost wrapped up their segment.

Alexis’ moment with Stephen came eight months after the sports commentator took aim at Serena after she appeared alongside Kendrick Lamar during his performance of his Drake diss track “Not Like Us” at the Super Bowl.

“If I’m your husband, I’m thinking, ‘Why are you up there trolling him—trolling your ex?’” Stephen posited at the time. “If I’m married, and my wife is going to troll her ex—go back to his ass. Because clearly you don’t belong with me. What you worried about him for—and you with me?”After facing online criticism for his remarks, Stephen doubled down, stating that he was just taking a “man’s perspective.”

“We were joking around on @FirstTake,” he wrote in part on X Feb. 11. “Damn y’all! It’s not that serious.”For his part, Alexis has no issues with his wife’s performance, in fact, it was all praise.“Some of y'all have no idea how criticized Serena was for this same dance at Wimbledon 13 years ago and it shows....” Alexis wrote on X Feb. 10. “This is bigger than the music.”

I debated in my head pulling a KFC on KFC, and just dissecting his One Minute Man video piece by piece, like he does with my blogs for these videos, but he honestly did too good of a job with this, and he blessed us with too many golden-era blogs over the years. And I'm too nice. So he gets a pass. 

Having said all that, what a fucking take-down from Alexis Ohanian here. Right in Stephen A.'s front yard. 

If we’re being totally honest, that’s as flawless of a victory as you’re going to see. 

Props to Mr. Reddit here for playing the long game. He could have went off last February when Stephen A made those comments, but he played it cool and professional. He bit his lip, bided his time, and found his way into ESPN’s lair. Then, finally confronted face-to-face, on LIVE tv, he played his cards. 

And Stephen A. just completely folded. 

Love to see it. 

Of course, Stephen A. said “things would have been different if he was in the studio”, to which I agree. Because it would have been even more cold blooded.
