Baker Mayfield Is Now Firmly In The MVP Conversation

I mentioned it last week in my post-game Bucs blog that, "I should mention that Baker Mayfield is still +1500 for MVP in the DraftKings Sportsbook. Bet responsibly." After today's win over the 49ers that he was without his top three Receivers in the entire 2nd half (and his top two proven options for the whole game), his stud 2nd year Runningback, and a Right Guard and Right Tackle that aren't starters, that priced has moved considerably. In fact, Baker Mayfield is now +400 for MVP, tied with Patrick Mahomes for 2nd, behind only reigning MVP, Josh Allen.

The 49ers were nipping on the Bucs heels when on a 3rd & 14 in their own territory, Baker took things into his own hands, or legs again.

Then another late TD to put the Bucs ahead by eight was to a rookie Wide Receiver who was picked in the 7th year of the 2025 NFL Draft, Tez Johnson.

And the Bucs are 5-1 right now. This is an absolute fever dream! 

Next week, they've got a HEAVYWEIGHT showdown in Detroit on Monday night. Top record in the NFC is on the line. Let's go Bucs!
