The Trailer For Season 2 Of X-Men 97 Just Leaked From New York Comic Con And We May Have Another Banger On Our Hands
First of all, shout out to the creators of X-Men 97 for not only successfully rebooting a beloved brand from the 90s but for doing such a good job that the trailer for season 2 is leaking from a screening room at Comic Con, a tradition that used to be reserved for only the biggest of projects to get the nerds buzzing.
Now I'd love to do a full blown frame-by-frame recap of everything. But my shitty old man eyes, ears, and brain can only comprehend so much from a bootleg trailer with someone's head in the way with very little X-Men lore still rattling around in my head. However, these are my initial reactions to the trailer.
- Seeing the iconic Wolverine made it move and I can ensure you I am not alone.
- Speaking of making it move, I am also very happy to have Psylocke back in my life.
Remember when Olivia Munn played Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse? If not, it's okay. I refused to see the last couple of X-Men movies in the theater myself as well. But here's a refresher for those that need it.
Okay, I don't think that last gif was in the movie but it pretty much lived on Barstool for at least five years straight, so it felt right to include it.
- No Emma Frost or Gambit is a bummer. But every comic property needs to have characters missing so their fans will obsess over them being in the content and whether or not they appear determines if said fans declare said content a failure or success.
- Maybe it's for the best we haven't seen any of Gambit yet because my boy Remy can't buy a bucket on this show right now.
- I was never really sure how to feel about X-Factor but I can tell you I hope they aren't given too much screen time in this series or else it would give off the vibe of that one story line where Eleven met her "sister" in Detroit or wherever he went in that season of Stranger Things.

- I'll be honest, I always liked the idea of Apocalypse in the comic books, especially when he assembled the Four Horsemen. But seeing him in action always has me wondering what the hell you are supposed to do about a maniac that can just do this.
I'll let all the supernerds deep diving into this thing on Reddit throughout the night figure out what the storylines appear to be and where we appear to be headed. But I'm even more stoked for this season than I was when I woke up this morning, which is a W for the trailer. While news like this is a W for all X-Men fans.
