The Chargers Have Traded For Odafe Oweh And Are Determined To Become The Ravens 2.0

I've been venting over the Chargers situation the last few days and have been desperate for them to make a move. Well, the prayers have been answered. Lets break it down for both sides.

For Ravens fans: You're getting a decent pick and Gilman is a bit of a mixed bag. He has been a great guy for both energy and for being in the right place at the right time for a turnover. He'll punch one out, be the lone body in a sea of receivers to recover a fumble and he'll have one insanely good read for an INT. He will also have a LOT of blown coverages. Maybe that changes with your defense but I doubt it with how it's looking right now.

For Chargers fans: We're getting an EDGE that can generate pressure. That is a HUGE upgrade vs what is on the field right now.

As many Ravens fans have already pointed out, he gets those pressures but doesn't finish. To that, I say "Baby Steps". Sacks are better than pressures but pressures are better than no pressure

Seems to be like a good trade for both sides. Two struggling guys that get the chance to make a bigger impact in a change of scenery. The other question that this raises, though, is why the Chargers are so determined to become the west coast Ravens.

Since last year, they've brought in practically the entire organization. Our current GM(Joe Hortiz) was with the team for 20 years. Our OC, DC, multiple position coaches and other staffers have come from Baltimore. JK Dobbins, Gus Edwards, Bradley Bozeman, Tony Jefferson, Hayden Hurst, Eric Tomlinson, Sam Mustipher and Del'Shawn Phillips all played for Hortiz in Baltimore. I get wanting to go with what you're familiar with, but maybe spread out the search a little?

Regardless, this can't be the last move. This team needs to make some big swings to rebuild this offensive line to protect Herbert.
