Justin Herbert Is On Pace To Be Hit More Than The Medically-Retired Andrew Luck Was Through 6 Seasons

If you saw my blog last night, you know that I'm currently advocating for Herbert to be cryogenically frozen like Master Chief. 

This latest stat has only furthered that belief. SIX HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE TIMES??? That much more than a QB that had to retire because he got the absolute piss beaten out of him game in and game out? What are we doing here Harbaugh? After watching his star college pupil from get run into a an early grave in the NFL, you might think the protection would be a major sticking point in the offseason. Instead, he saw an offensive line that was torn to shreds in the playoffs (A HEALTHY line, mind you) and thought the only worthwhile add was injury prone Mekhi Becton.

Now, with both Alt and Slater out, this line is a complete and total liability. 

It's organizational malpractice. It's what has gotten Joe Burrow killed over the last few years but they at least got two great receivers and a DE out of it. 

Not to be a doomer, but if this is what the line has to offer than this season is already over. "But they're 3-2 with divisional wins!". Watch the last two games. I think Big Ev and Klemmer could run a stunt on Bradley Bozeman and get through the line. At this point, I'm already looking at this offseason.

In 2026, they will have the 2nd most cap in the NFL only to the Titans. That money NEEDS to be funneled into the interior of this line. Bitonio, Seumalo, McGovern, it does not matter. Their biggest investment is in an all-NFL QB and they are letting him get fucking obliterated every single play.
