'We Can't Let Rickie Ruin Our Chances of Getting to the League': Syracuse WR Johntay Cook's Uncle Called Into a Postgame Radio Show To Trash QB Rickie Collins After a Loss to SMU

This is peak college football, folks. Everything is absolutely perfect.

Syracuse receiver Johntay Cook's uncle, David, called into a Syracuse postgame show following the Orange's loss to SMU and immediately started shitting on quarterback Rickie Collins and saying Johntay needs to transfer — to what would be a fourth school in as many years — to maintain his NFL aspirations. Collins began the season as Steve Angeli's backup but has taken over after Angeli suffered a season-ending injury.

Collins did throw three picks on Saturday, but Cook still managed to haul in seven receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown. I don't think any fans or scouts were confusing him for the reason Cuse lost on the road with a backup quarterback.

I love David's sign-off of, "What do you have to say about that?" Well, I'd ask what, exactly, you expect from Syracuse's backup quarterback. The Orange offense actually looked pretty solid with Angeli, but obviously things were going to change when you had to go to an unproven backup for the rest of the season. I'd also ask if David believes his call to a postgame radio show that has now gone viral helps or hurts his nephew's hopes of playing in the NFL.

What a scene, though. There's no other sport like this one.
